The End of Scripts

As above, so below. As without, so within. If you wish to divine the nature of the divine look around you and within you. If you want to change the universe, change yourself. Within your mind and soul lies a complete replica of the divine universe. Your imagination, your thoughts, feelings and beliefs produce your world that you experience. The same is true in reverse, the Universe in all its vast complex glory is the image you are produced from, the changes within it effect you personally. The epic march of the planets, their orbits close to and far from each other, make a splendid array of forces and energies, so complicated in their effect that astrologers spend decades studying books and charts to master. Little do they know they could peer within and see the masterpiece of the solar system dance within their very imaginations. Tarot cards and crystal balls, skrying mirrors and runes all teach one thing: The true source of the wisdom is within you. Learn what the imagination produces, what images arise and decay, what moods spark and shimmer and you learn the language of the gods. Once one learns their parents tongue they can speak back, they can question, demand, joke, learn, love. Our divine parents have planted within each of us a language they use every night and throughout the day when we listen. A language of symbols, signs, colors, shapes, brilliance and dimness. I spent years seeking communion with god, I picked up Christianity, mysticism, meditation, psychic development, tarot, occultism, ceremonial magic and so much more until I realized the whole time the voice I sought was not a tongue of man, it was universal, it had to be. All language had to spring from it; the natural world was shaped by it. It was the inner language the first languages of the cave and temple were written in. The Imagination is the true language, far superior to the Babel of earthen man. Learn your true language and speak to the gods, angels, demons and true divinity itself, speak to the very heart of creation, and when you know that language you have that same power that in the beginning spoke and it was so. You have the power to create from yourself, for yourself, to yourself.

The body is the Earth. Think now; imagine all your body as solid as the stones that make the planet. Your soul is the sea. Think and imagine that the essence and life within you is the density of water compared to stone. Your spirit is the wind, think now of the entire atmosphere surrounding the Earth and the density of what stone feels to be, compared to water, compared to air. The divine is the Sun and the Moon, shining their light down, through and into you, enlivening you and inspiring you. Now think of the Emerald Tablet of Hermes.

This series has all been about scripts. Like robots every one of us runs on certain programs. What we are programmed with is belief, experience, desire, fears, emotions and our environment. We have choices but those choices get limited when we give up our freedom, we close off our view to the variety and excitement of creation and surrender to the flood of our past programs. The only way to be free is to admit you are a robot, but know that you are a robot that can be programmed, by yourself. Determine your programs! Even if they fail, pick and choose your programs and see how they change you for better or worse. They have programming packages, they are called gods. Download them through invocation and study. They have virus removal programs, called banishing rituals and purification rites. They have programs that speed up your hardrive, such as meditation, and ritual magic. How do you begin? Look at the following list:

Divinity
Creation
Limitation
Law
Power
Harmony
Love-Growth
Mind-Intellect
Soul-Emotion
Body-Nature

Think on each one individually and with care, allow whatever thoughts, images and ideas come to you. What gut reactions and beliefs do you have on each topic. Whatever comes up is the result of your programming and either is useful or useless to you. You decide which. You make your own script, you invoke a god specific to the sphere and domain it rules, you meditate and contemplate your new script and that is how you change, grow and develop. All the rest, all the training and riga-ma-roll of magic is bullshit compared to this. Change yourself and change the world. As below, so above. As within, so without. I am not responsible for your development, nor Bardon, nor Crowley, nor any other guy who had enough free time to write some words on paper. Your work is your own, has been and always will be. You can create a entirely unique and workable magic system of your own devising by simply comparing notes between your inner world and the universe. When you have that and want to do magic just imagine what usually comes up when that universal cause shows itself. For example, if the universe is bringing you luck, look within, see what comes up within you for luck. What dreams did you have prior to or during this lucky streak. Bring that up when you need luck and that tells the universe “Hey! Order of Luck here!” and the universe spits out luck.
THAT IS IT. THAT IS MAGIC.

Really, I know each person reading will have a weeellllll…what about…nope! Magic is imagination and will united like magnetic and electric fluid, like man and woman, like Sun and Moon, like rubbing a lamp and genies, like clicking on a link on a web page.

MAGIC IS IMAGINATION AND WILL UNITED. LEARNING THE IMAGINATION AND HOW TO USE YOUR WILL IS ALL THAT IS REQUIRED, NO BOOKS, NO SECRETS SOCIETIES, NO MAGIC RINGS, NO DEALS WITH THE DEVIL, NO WORSHIP OF SOME IDOL.

  1. Hei JB!
    Beautiful post!
I love the images, and, you put here the lost secret of magic(haha), will and imagination! I never have seen so great explanation on my life!
And now? What is the next? (books, artwork, blogs?)
    Congratulations for this blog!

The little advertisement made me chuckle. Well done post Justin!

I have a friend who believes the driving force behind Magic was yin and yang energies. (he posts, makes videos, etc. about magic) He still doesn't understand that the different energies act sorta like fuel in a car, and without properly directed will and imagination you can't drive that car properly.

    1. Haha glad it worked, I thought I should end it with some humor.

Well, in a way he is right. Yin and Yand are the electric and magnetic, will is electric imagination is magnetic. He just needs to realize that one does not have to work directly with the forces, just their "manifestations" within us.

    2. ugh, yang. When will I learn not to type from my smartphone. It just makes me look dumb haha.

    3. Don't worry about the typo, happens to all of us.

Yes, I do understand what you mean, I mean he's looking for it outside of him and to bring it within him when its already there, he's just got to use his imagination to work with whats within him rather than looking to work with whats without.

  3. I really liked this post. I've been wondering for awhile now what gives someone the title of a Magician. What accomplishments or goals one would have to experience to be rightly given this title. In Bardon's work, it would seem that one who has mastered the elements is a "Master Magician", yet anyone practicing magic could be considered a Magician too. I've even seen people use "professional mage" as a title by a group who makes psionics and servitors. I've also wondered how Mage, Magus, and Magician differ from each other if at all and at times feel that people clump Witches into the same category. Like on the Magician tarot card, I've seen it say "Magician/Witch" before.

I consider you to have an incredible amount of knowledge on all of these subjects. I believe I read once in one of your blogs that a lot of the demons used in certain systems were angels at one point, demonized by the church. That is REALLY good information! And if it wasn't you, then we can just pretend it was ;) Because I learn so much from your blogs that equal and greater knowledge has been obtained. I plan to buy a copy of Telesma, yet as I read in the preview on Lulu, I am a bit reluctant about going so long in the beginning without doing or thinking about anything magickal as a practicing Bardonist. Please forgive me for all of these questions. It's a lot I know, but what can I say. You're the man, Justin.

    With great respect,
    Riviny

    1. Often people get caught in semantics, which compounds errors when studying other systems and other culture's magics. However, with enough diverse study you eventually see the common thread across all systems and cultures. It breaks down pretty simply into a person who has a connection established to the numinous, spirit realm or the divine. That person through their interaction with the other side becomes a microcosmic messenger (Hermes being the macrocosmic)for both sides, doing what is needed for the higher realms and causing or requesting the change needed in the physical by enlisting the aid of the spiritual. Through the interaction the magic worker is changed, different (alchemy grows from this)The means of the magic worker is entering a different state of consciousness. Everything else is ritual, cultural flavor and the programming of the magic worker. I use the term imagination to describe the state of purposeful manipulation of the astral substance. But using that phrase can make people think to much about it, make it seem alien or unattainable or beyond their development. There is a reason gods of magic are also gods of words and language. We are more inclined to see that words are just like the symbols that cause change in the universe, use the right one and miracles are achieved, use the wrong one and no change occurs.

Thanks! I understand your hesitancy on Telesma, but you can work on it in addition to the Bardon training if so inclined. The symbols can be used for practice in single pointed focus and consider the part in the book where one allows the symbols to sink into the unconscious mind as a aspect of vacancy of mind.
Thanks again! Good magic to you!

    2. Ok, consider me won over lol. I personally think it will be worth owning just for the art work. However, your advice has made it worth it to me the most. The fact that you take the time and are so kind to respond to all the questions(silly or not) that people might ask you. My intention was to incorporate it in with my current practice as you pointed out, yet thought all my hard work would go down the drain if I just stopped even for a short amount of time as the moon's cycle. Would there be anyway around this process, so that I can keep going and still use your book or would it make the work pointless if I avoided this? If not, would I still be able to continue doing meditation? Are there any practices that I still can do like Tai Chi? I love the idea and am very excited to own a copy of your public grimoire regardless.

By the way, in your last response back to me you said you wanted to get your grimoire bound. If by that you mean leather, I have learned through Quantum Touch that leather does absorb energy, however it absorbs all the energy around it as if it is trying to come back to life. You probably knew this already though. Or grimoires are just meant to look badass bound in leather, I have no idea, but either way, just looking out for you like you did for me by answering all my previous questions :) Thank you so much for the tremendous education you provide as a teacher. It really means a lot to me!

  4. Ah, I think I see were we have a miscommunication. You just have to stop practice the Telesma magic for the moon period. It allows the symbols to sink in. You don't have to stop Bardon.

Thanks! I don't need it in leather (although that would be cool looking) and to stop the osmosis of energy from the environment just keep it wrapped in leather and only when a magic circle is up unwrap it.

    Appreciate that, thank you!

  5. That made me so happy to read that I can continue my other workings during the moon phase. Yay! I am very excited to own a copy of Telesma. I hope to use it alongside my other most used/reference books. Also, were you talking about keeping Telesma wrapped in leather or some other work? Putting a magic circle up before every reading and or use of the work or just to prevent the book from absorbing energy when not covered in leather? I think I got mixed up again lol.

    1. Lol, no I was just saying IF I did have a leather bound grimoire I would keep it wrapped in silk as it is a psychic insulator. I would then unwrap said hypothetical book bound in leather only if and when a magical circle was erected.

  6. Hei!
If all we need to work magic is will and imagination, why we need to work with spirits?
Its not more easy to go to the "source" of the spirit power?
    Thanks!

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. In order to evoke a spirit you need will and imagination. Cart before the horse. If you are doing a ritual to evoke a spirit all you need is will and imagination, that is all you have and that is all anyone has ever used. You may reply "No, people use circles and triangles, magic robes, magical weapons and so on..." But what makes those work? Will and imagination. You are asking the wrong question.
You see, imagination needs a "language" a set of images that it uses to be charged by the will. They can be self created, they can be borrowed, or both. Most people make physical items as "reminders" for that language. So then is a magic wand the thing that is magical or is it you imbued the wand with magic power through the imagination?
The source of the spirits power is divinity. You are divinity as well. You and the spirit are both attached to and draw power from the same source. The answer is both yes and no, it depends on what you have set up as your program or script. Is the way you get to the source through a spirit, through a magic word, through a ritual or through connecting yourself to the source?

    2. In your opinion its possible I say the imagination and will are scripts? (Really big scripts!)
      Thanks.

    3. The Imagination and Will are forces, you can have scripts about them, how you use them, how effective they are, their source and nature but in and of themselves they are forces.

  7. What the best method (in your opinion) to destroy a bad thoughform?
In the soul mirror, Bardon is talking about scripts?
    Thanks.

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. To not destroy them. To use them. Find their opposite and work on that. So, laziness for example. If you sit there and combat laziness you will fail. You slowly start focusing on what aspect in your life you are lazy in and systematiclly become more productive. Say you sleep to late, set the alarm back and focus on waking up early everyday. When that is done focus on accomplishing more, like ritual practice. Start in the morning with your extra time you have added and do a ritual or meditate. Start small and build your goals. Know why you are doing it, be passionate about it and feel the change as a need. If it is just a want it won't happen. You must desire the change. And many soul mirror issues are results of scripts. Some can be directly scripts but programs or scripts are typically what gives rise to behavior and views that cause soul mirror issues.

  8. Hei Justin!
Its possible you explain, why in much magical cultures, the god of magic is at the same time the trickester?
    Thanks!

    1. That is a good question and really worthy of a book or at least an essay. The simple reasons are really what ELSE the gods of magic were gods over. Language for one is the domain of gods of magic. Early man had trouble sorting out the difference between symbol and object. Ancient egyptian glyphs WERE the thing they represented in the minds of Egyptians. To be able to write and spell meant you could work spells! Think of how much humans love word play, puns and double meanings, which can only be done with a good grasp of language. Usually magic in myth and legend were used for disguise, invisibility and secret knowledge, tricks in other words or mystery. Hermes was god over merchants, pirates and theives. Again language with batering, coinage ( think counterfeit money and how troublesome that is) and deals made always with the attempt at getting over on another.
The gods no matter the domain are archetypes and sterotypes of man, exagerated and made large. So, shamans, magi and priests were used to conceive of what their gods were like. Because of their natures (the priest class was always big on intruige, politics and secrets and shamans were always mysterious, a bit odd and at times thought mad) the gods over them were thought to be similar.
From a magic view the god of magic straddles the world of the numinous, the nonsenseical and dream and the world of reason, language and speech. That dual nature of reaaon and beyond reason make it by definition something that is duplicitous, sometimes friendly sometimes frightening as well as misunderstood. It trys to convey the message of the eternal all knowing into finite little brains. It os bound to be misunderstood and therefore seen as a trickster. Consider a being that can see all and know all trying to speak to a primitive temporal creature worried about seasons, war, crops, with finite view and lives.

    2. Hei!
      Thanks your answer!
      Great points!
In my mind I always linked the gods of magic = gods of conscience (I mean, is the conscience who gives the birth of the words, icons e etc).
      haha.
Just trying to make sense some readings of your list. They are blowing my mind!

      Delete
    3. You mean the consious mind? No, the gods were developed prior to the conscious awareness that developed in man, actually right before. The brain of early man lacked the full connectivity it does now, it had a rudimentry consciousness moved and directed by impules and drives experienced as fellow tribesmen, chieftan and gods. Read Julian Joyces and his works for compelling info on this.

    4. I will, thanks!
Last question: some authors (like Alan Moore) say:magic is the correct utilization of some type of language to represent ideas. (like alphabets, images, and go on).
      You agree with this?
      Thanks!

ps: sorry for the number of questions! And thanks for your time!

    5. Yes, use the symbols and images as the imagination and the power of the will filled with need and passion. That is what magic is.

  9. In your opinion and experience, its possible change a biological script (example: reproduction, and etc) ?
    Thanks!

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Reproduction and other biological traits such as fight or flight, hunger, thirst, etc. are drives. They are forces that propel us, move us and shape behavior where scripts are how well or how poorly we do with those drives. So the biological drive for as you asked reproduction will always be present and motivating the animal or human the means and activities that the human or animal utilizes will be based on the scripts they have. Some scripts cause severe repression of the drive so that the force of the drive gets released in other ways. Take Tesla for instance, he was completely chaste but funneled that libido into acts of scientific creation and discovery. The drive was there the script redirected it.

  10. Hi Justin, how does one remove a script from the subconscious?

Is it even possible to remove one or do I have to create one of the opposite that is positive to slowly overpower the negative idea?

    ReplyDelete

    1. Best to alter or change it, the energy involved in the prior script will then fulfill the new one.

    1. So, I must assume you have never experienced anything magical, no synchronicity in life, no unusual occurances, precognitions, no weird feelings or experiences and you are an utter materialist. Otherwise you believe in magic, and if you believe in magic and yet do not believe you can do it then that means you just don't have experience doing magic. Try sigil magic, pick up some books by Robert Anton Wilson such as Cosmic Trigger or Prometheus Rising. Start small, do magic for things that could JUST be coincidance thrn go a little bigger. Take 15 minutes everyday and meditate or just look at the Magician card from any tarot deck or even online. Try seeing auras in a monocolor slighty dark room. If after all that you have not experienced magic then give up. This life may not be the one you do magic in. Just study, meditate and be a good person, also check out your astrological chart and houses, this will give you an idea of your mission in this life and why you may have occult interest but no practical utility for it.
